Not only did we have the opportunity to connect with our amazing community, but our students also showcased the video games they brought to life, from concept to creation. Watching people play something they imagined, designed, and built was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when young people are given the right tools and support.

Yesterday marked the final day of our 4-week Game Design & Artificial Intelligence Summer Cohort, made possible through our incredible collaboration with Metropolitan Church, Albany Rec Center West, and the SUNY Albany Minerva Center for High Impact.

Over the past four weeks, our STEP students worked alongside instructor Jamey Stevenson to design and build their very own video games from the ground up.

Our cohort was filled with singers, songwriters, musicians, rappers, athletes, and gamers.

Our first cohort proudly showcased 4 of our brave students stepping forward to share their original games, build in just 6 weeks (only 12 classes total). The room was filled with support, love, and encouragement; and our students felt it.

Because of partners like you, our students feel seen, supported, and confident as they navigate their journey into the workforce and deeper into themselves.
What we’re building together is more than a program. It’s a true community; a space where people feel safe to learn, create, connect, and grow.
